What's the majority say about the red vent plugs on a styrofoam incubator? I've heard leave them out, one in and one out, in for 10 days then out, pretty much every possible combo of things you could do with the red plugs. Haha

I never use them at all. I actualy just found them today lol

may be put a power loss alarm in line would help
Personally, I'd be leery of using a power strip in that scenario, as I sit here 2' from one that's maxed out. However, the only equipment that's currently being used is the 'puter & printer. There are also a lamp & phone on the strip, but they're rarely used.

Depending on the situation, I can envision at least one 'bator (probably more, if I know Jess), a turner or two, a brooder or two, maybe a lamp or space heater. If the house would happen to have a good bit of age, the wiring could be suspect. I'm no electrician, but with the possible exception of the lamp, that could be a major constant load for a single wall outlet. At the least, the reset button could need resetting or the breaker could trip. At the worst, there may be a fire.

Maybe there's an electrician on board who can shoot holes in the above ( I hope so ); all I know for sure is that electricity scares me to death.

I've lost most of mine :/ I have 1 plug left for 2 incubators. So they're pretty much always out :p

O2 deprivation to day 10 of incubation followed by regular oxygen concentrations leads to stronger chicks post #33815

NEVER USE VENT holes as a means to Control HUMIDITY especially during HATCH DAYS!

I could name you a couple people on here that don't even know where their vent plugs are. 'Nuff said.
