I find that I get things done easier with a toddler. Young enough to not think that they know a better way, old enough to collect eggs (usually without breaking any) while I do something else.
And if Duckling is being stubborn, I give her a can of scratch while I do everything.

Ehhhhh I COULD but someone won't be there to monitor it all the time so it kinda worries me...
With your current night time lows I'd be a little hesitant to move the 3 wk olds out than. Daytime doesn't look to be as big of a problem. 3 wk olds should have a spot that's about 85* where they can warm up if needed. How old were you thinking to let them get before kicking them out there?

Well that's what I'm trying to decide because I don't want to do it too soon. And trying to make more room for them currently in our garage so they aren't cramped. I think they'll be ok now that I've split the older group up into two different brooders...

My guy loves to throw everything so he's not allowed to touch eggs yet lollll...
He loves to feed them though...& he picks grass and goodies for them. Sometimes I have to stick him in his swing because when the cows come up, he thinks he'll just run straight for them!
