Here is a cross post- sorry if you've read and responded on the other threads, I'm trying to get as many opinions as possible and this is the most active thread!

I am raising a mind flock complete with: CL, Bielefelders, BCM, Australorps, golden laced wyandotte, lavender Orpingtons, lavender Cochins, olive and Easter Eggers. I'd like to two cockerels (maybe three) but am trying to decide on which one: BCM, CL or a Bielefelder...or all 3. My flock, with them included, is at 25. All 3 are still young~ between 6-10 weeks, so they're all sweet. What is everyone's experience with their Roos? Means and Biels seem to have the best reps... I'm also contemplating the lavender Orpington or Cochin just because they're so pretty and my girls are gorgeous!

Good morning!!  Thank you everyone for the kind words and thoughts. 

On a happier note....I went to bed last night with 1 chick and 1 pip.  I woke up to 1 chick and 3 pips.  These are eggs I'm hatching for someone else, so I"m really hoping for a good hatch!!!

I hope everybody is doing well!

When I called it a night, I had one egg pipped at the wrong end and it hatched with no problems before Dh was up at 4am. :yiipchick
When I got up at 5:45 I had 2 more zipping and they were both out by 6:15. Three blue coppers so far

I'm watching one closely though because one has an open navel. The yolk is completely inside the body but the skin around it wasn't closed. (The goo stuck to the leg is not attached to the navel)No bleeding and it's on shelf liner so hopefully as the yolk absorbs more the skin will close. So far it is active and appears ok.

I'm off to do a read-back from where I left off last night
