Not all of us like being men.
Maybe you could find someone close to help you across the bridge? Mean roosters are no fun to deal with, and you'll probably enjoy life a little more without having to look over your shoulder constantly for a flogging rooster.
If you're holding the chicken by the feet & cut off your hand, the chicken's too small to butcher, anyway

Yeah. I might be able to recruit my neighbors.... I don't have the equipment either, and don't plan on spending lots of $$$ for a one time job.
Or maybe I could just let his crest grow out, then he can't even see me.
