Mornin Paddler, how have you been feeling, all back up to normal now? the bees all set in a home?

Everything going on at once has really slowed down gardening and put me way behind.

Bronchitis is pretty well gone but all sorts of other maladies both personal and property wise.
My wife is at the hospital right now getting her face stitched up. I told her not to bother locking the chickens up last night because I would be home by dark. I pulled in the drive when she was walking up from the back with blood streaming down her face. She had fallen and hit her head. She refused to go to the hospital last night not thinking it was that bad. When I tried to help her clean it and bandage it this morning I couldn't believe how deep the cut was. It is at the top of her eyebrow and almost 2/3 the length of it. I took her to urgent care right up the street but they wouldn't touch it because she truly need hospital care and possibly a plastic surgeon.
She said she didn't care if it scarred. I said, "you will".

Dealing with ants in hives, I got stung in the eyelash and woke up yesterday with it swollen shut. It's better now.
Some of the techniques to keep the ants at bay. The buckets are better than the tub because water in the tub makes for too much humidity in the hive - but the tub is cheaper.
I have to go into all hives today to check on the queens.
It has to be done today because it is raining the next two days.

Something chewed through the door of a coop and killed all 9 birds in there. I don't think a mink would have been strong enough and it looked more like coon damage but the mayhem was more like mink. Nothing eaten, just all dead birds.
I tried to salvage some meat and eggs, then burned the carcasses - all with one eye.

Then the storm closed my driveway so nobody could get in.

Among everything else I have to do I still have to finish my incubator so I can hatch eggs from the birds I lost.

More problems but that's enough for now.

Thank you Chicken Canoe

John Frank also has black swans and a very interesting variety of ducks; 3 varieties of wood, 5 species of teal, shovelers, mandarins, et. al.

I had 7 am doc appointment then stopped for lab work, I get up at 445 so probably nap and do some cleaning and wash since I dont have kids, perhaps tear a closet apart I have been saying I will for weeks now and never feel like it of late.  ;)    oh its raining and chilly

I didnt do such a broad wrap as they show on the images and to be honest some of the silkies ducks I had I just did the wing tuck and tape only, then they dont mess with it.    You dropped protien around three weeks old right?  and you giving them niacin or brewers yeast?

:frow   have a great day Justin!!

gotcha, I def go straight to the good one if doc goes there too of course

no dice on the doc going also. It's the military so we don't really have such a thing as a regular doc. Especially at this base 90% of everything is sent off base. Sometimes local sometimes 2 hours away. Several good hospitals in the hour range though.

Just put them in your pocket.

Here they are from last weekend. They are not fully feathered, but seem fine. They are huddled away from my invading arm with the phone not for warmth.

@Ur-ur-ur-urrr my reds
Nice!! They are looking good!

Good morning ALL!!! Happy Friday! My lock down eggs aren't doing anything yet. I think they are afraid to hatch after they learned I killed all the previous babies....

But on a happier note, my BF got a new puppy. He's got a raccoon face!!!

I hope everyone is having a good day!!!
