Hey! I have one single duck egg I found in my driveway no nest around no ducks anywhere. Not sure how it got there? I have been homemade incubating for 13 days. The room the egg is kept in in a room where our leopard gecko is . .. temp and humidity controlled...so far the growth is spot on however I noticed the air space has not changed much according to everything I have read by tomorrow the air pocket should be increasing. .. I am doing the best I can with what I have (no experience in this at all just lots of researching) is there anything I can do to help increase the air pocket? Is this duckling going to survive? My heart is going to break if it doesn't! Any advice or help would be appreciated! Pm me! Thanks so.much!

I lost one of the baby muscovys.

Good looking kid...both of 'em. It's sure enough easy to figure out who contributed the "good looks" gene in your family.

can you get a pic of the air cell size pencil mark it or snap a candle image? lower humidity is all you can do.

anyone here like cats? (random question)
I love indoor cats. Hate outdoor cats. Worst invasive species predator in the world.
That's why they're called housecats.

Relax, Grasshopper
We're just messin' with you.
I like cats just fine, long as they don't bother my birds
Outdoor cats belong next to my mashed potatoes and green beans.

I'm surprised we haven't lost chicks to them! The only one who hasn't learned not to mess with the chickens is Leo because he's not allowed outside. If he was out he'd learn pretty quickly.

The best way to train cats to leave chickens alone is to introduce them to a broody hen with chicks.

They are more stringy then dogs, but the meat has more protein!
They are a delicacy in other countries, just like snake is in America.
Just not advised in Leviticus.

Why does people keep talking about eating them!!???!!!!???

They taste just like chicken.

They do not!!! They eat rabbits
They also kill all my songbirds and lizards.

When we first got chickens only one Silkie survived along with our bredas. My mom got two more silkies and they turned out being roosters.

Don't feel to bad about death, it's natural. Besides sometimes you can't do anything
Well said young'un.
We should try to keep that from happening but accept what we can't control.

Well I like cats
I don't know who would eat snakes
that's weird
I like snakes and cats. Snakes outdoors and cats indoors.
Snake is good to eat though.
When one is in need of animal protein, they'll eat almost anything.

...
How are you and the Mrs. doing?
...
We're OK, in spite of a rough week.
The wife is still a little messed up. She and daughter are attending a live performance of 'The Sound of Music' at the Fabulous Fox right now.

Did you know chickens kill mice? We are pretty sure one of our chickens killed a mouse
Did you know snakes eat mice?
Chickens eat them too.
Snakes are much more effective mousers than cats.
Cats can't get into burrows and under wood piles - that's where snakes shine.

That's my maiden name.

Do you know Jeffrey?

Stop stop stop stop. Too many hens wanting to go broody

You need more broody jail cages.
We used to have 5 or 6 broody jails hanging from the ceiling of the henhouse. There were always 2 or 3 in there.

The temp is 100 and not sure what you mean by what level on The egg is that temp ( am I supposed to actually check egg temp?) I will take a pic and try to upload. I lowered humidity last night the best I can. Thanks for responding!
