Scary ain't it?I had a good plan???? I just blew my mind.
There's plenty of help available here; all you have to do is askLockdown tonight after I candle. Very excited for the cinco de mayo hatch. I even have my first broody working this hatch. Guess she got out last night to take a poop before her lockdown.. Lol
I really have to move these chicks out asap. Selling the last batch didn't go so well. I guess if they don't sell I will get to learn how to process. After this hatch I am done with hatching the barnyard mix.
Not sure where I want to go from here but you all are very entertaining. Don't learn squat about chickens but there are other threads for that.
Hi al! First time hatching chicken eggs via an incubator (have hatched parrot eggs and used a broody hen for chickens in the past). I weighed the eggs at start and today is day 11. (I just read that I shouldn't candle day 10-14 days AFTER I candled UGH)
Out of 38 eggs 30 were fertile, and 28-29 look viable. (1 appeared fertile but didnt see any veining) However they haven't lost much if any weight? Does that mean the 45-48% humidity should be lowered?
Also, I HATE tossing the eggs that are clear....just in case I am mistaken. How long can I safely leave them before needing to remove?
I noticed that there seemed to be different size of growth in them too...some appeared 2/3 full while others just had small moving areas maybe 1/4? Is that normal?
