So you open your bator in the most critical time that they need stabel hige humidity and stable temp!
No no!

My humidity was up in the 80s so I wanted it to come down some and I have a small opening I can get my hands in and out as to not loose all the heat so I just assumed it would be okay

I have videos of ducks and peachicks pipping and zipping with the lid off.

That's in the next chapter of Caprine Keeping 101; don't want to overwhelm Grasshopper with TMI all at once.

Ok.I never said its lethal
But the question is if that is the optimal conditions for them? Or it makes it harder.
In my opinion candeling in lockdown want give you any practical info.
If it is malpo. You will know it from its external pip, and then you will take the decision if to help or not. If it is dead you will know it in day 23, and if it is a good one it will hatch, so what is the porous of candeling in lock down?

:D One of my eggs just rocked!! I can't remember the last time I saw an egg rock!! So cool!
I find plenty of rocks shaped like eggs, but never an egg shaped like a rock! How cool!
@BantyChooksDid anything ever happen with your eggs?
Pulling the plug in 30 min or so, after candle. :hit
Hi all - new to the thread. It will take me a while to make my way through all the past posts! :-D I'm still pretty much a newbie to hatching since I haven't had much success. Lots of reading/research but not much in the way of results. (I guess I don't have the magic mojo.) I got a Brinsea 20 as a gift from DH in the hopes it would make things easier but it has its frustrations too. Temperature and humidity displays are reading low so I've been fiddling with that. I've got it to the point where the TOP of my chicken eggs are at 99.4-99.7. But below that point temps are lower in the 98's. Should I leave it alone at this point or still fine tune? I thought that with a fan temps would be much more consistent throughout the incubator but they're not. :barnie PS Happy Mother's Day to all the moms!
