Tonight, for the first time, all the EHAL chicks PUT THEMSELVES TO BED ON THEIR ROOSTS!!!!! ALL BY THEMSELVES!!!!

:clap :clap :clap

(Added benefit, I did not have to kneel in chicken poop to gather each one from the coop floor and place on the roost.)

My babies are growing up!!!! :celebrate

oh what a relief it is (OK that is it for singing from me MC, your turn)

How long have they been not turning?

48 hours, more if you count settle time. The sapphires are the worst, but I have little hope for them as I see the yellow haze I have seen on other scrambled eggs in the past. :/

Can you hand turn the worst ones? If not ya might as well fire up the turner so that the other ones don't get buggered.

Banty I just saw your other post umm Im not sure I would probably ask someone with more experience.

Don't have room..... Unless, I took out the auto turner and turned them all by hand? Most days I am gone for most of midday, how important is regular turning, or can I stretch it out a bit?

I'm guessing you are talking about shipped eggs.....So I let mine sit 18-24 hours then put in the incubator with the turner on.

Yep! I did let them sit for 24ish hours before setting.
