Hi guys. I have 11 eggs in lockdown. This is my.first hatch. Humidity at 75% right now. One pipped and hatched within 8 hours. Another had pipped but not progressed much. How long can it take? I could see it still moving this morning. Also, should I be concerned that the others have not pipped? When I candled before lockdown I had 3 internal pips. That was 48 hrs ago. Today is day 20. Thanks!!!

From external pip to zip and hatch can take 24 hrs.

It can take up to 24 hours, you are fine! Day 20, don't panic, there is still plenty of time. Sounds like you are doing good!

They can take 24 hours, and you still have time before they're even due to hatch.

Benny are you renovating your incubator turner? Did you set more eggs?

No the Turner is perfect to my use. I am slowly but surely, braking my DW disagree to have more chickens! She now agree to 7 pullets and she even play with them sometimes! I will not dare to incubate before I am sure thT I will keep them! I have some silver cuckoo Marans that I want! What abaout your project chivkens?

but you sell them for good money and you like to do it? so why not do so? and she gets to play with a few chicks too?

The money isn't an issue But she must convinced herself that the house won't be an incubating factory, I kept it very clean and tidy the last 2 times, so as I said She is slowly but surly ( with the help of my 2 DD ) start to change her mind. The problem Sall is that we dont have inofgh land, I have only 250 sqM of garden it is 1/16 of an acer. If I had 1/4 of an acer I would grow almost 80% of my food! I HAVE the knowledge .

Here it is not impossible! I can do it in the Golan heights but that mean that she will loose her job, and because she have a marvelous job in high tech, that is not an option! So I will continue to dream, and I belive that it will be possible!
