Never used one with a seat, but the edges of the holes were worn so smooth it didn't matter. I used to chuckle at my grandparents; they had electric lights,a telephone, a TV, even an electric pump on the well, but never had indoor facilities.
Earlier you said they were strange men, Which one is it? Hot guys or strange men?
maybe both??

Oh yea that's brilliant! Well I'm not as worried about waste as simplicity and ease of filling... I think it's really clever!Since my birds have gotten used to it, it's not as waste-free as it was at first, but still ain't too bad. I guess it took them a while to figure out how to sling feed out of it. Maybe putting a longer extension in the 'Y' would help, but then they might not be able to reach the feed.
If I ever build another one, I'd like to install a plexiglass window near the top of the 'Y' so I can tell when the feed supply is getting low.
