Another viable option to consider is to seal your bator with clear aquarium grade sealant. If you choose to go that route make sure it is the aquarium grade non-toxic version. I was considering this as a back up plan but the paint has worked so well I dismissed that idea. I don't know if I would use this in your scenario especially due to the fact that it is clear and even though it is sealed you will still be able to see the gunk. It should however make future cleaning a dream as compared to now.
There are several options but here is an example.

The light spot is where the label was.... I have scrubbed the lid like crazy.... It used to be worse! The bottom is a bit better.

100% silicone is the same thing as the aquarium safe sealant. A retired reptile professor that now moonlights at Petco told me that. It is much cheaper too.@BantyChooks

Thanks! Fortunately, I have not had much trouble with them going out. It would be better if I had more than one bulb in there but I have the heat just right with the one. In a couple years with four or so incubators this is the first one I had go out that I don't catch right away. I figure it was like the hen took a long break![]()
The cop stopping traffic was somewhat safe, but the person that just walked across the busy road scared me. But I loved the guy catching them as they jumped. I'm wondering if that is a daily ritual?Thank you so much!! Y'all have been a HUGE help to me!
