speaking of dead eggs.... remember I said how hot to the touch the duck eggs were? well I have almost all blood rings! two embryos that I can see and one I think is a blood ring but not sure, the others dead very tiny little dots. sniffles... dang weather now its beautiful out lol cant win! hey now!!! I wont complain anymore, you can just assume I have no internet sticks out tongue in words because emotis are not available BECAUSE OF SUCKISH INTERNET that is not diet food missy!

Thanks sally, it has been a horrid week for flock related things. When it rains, it pours..... Hopefully the clouds have poured themselves out by now. I'm starting to be worried when I enter the coop for fear I might find more chickens dead! :/ -Banti

Okay, I got the tape stuff for hawk prevention, I could only find caution tape.... Sure hope the hawks can read! It was really funny to watch the chickens follow me while I strung it across the run. They wore a look on their lil faces of a mix of fascination and fear, carefully watching it to make sure it didn't eat them, while desperately wanting to know if it tasted good. Except Lucky. He marched right up and grabbed the end and tried to eat it while I had the end trailing. Typical rooster! I also finished and filled the duck pond. They LOVE it! -Banti

I cant with kiddo here, I know Jerry Shlex eats his all the time, like bucket fulls of them. look like cornish hens but smaller, not sure its worth just one though sweets. can you gift him>'

Yeah, life itself I don't have nuttin' to complain about, I know losses happen, etc etc etc.... Just sad, these birds are my babies. Oh well, I'm learning and WILL NOT make the same mistakes twice!!



Oh, two more observations I learned today..

A). Chickens think "CAUTION" tape looks like banana peels.
B). All a duck needs to be happy is a pond and a duct tape roll. Highly entertaining watching them play!

Looks clear to me but hard to tell, if it doesn't stink put it back, the broody will know best !!
