They sound terrible when they are first trying.

I think they sound a lot like the squeaky toys that my friend's puppy plays with.

I sent my big EE roo, one of the big silkies, and 1 of the bantam EE roos that was most aggressive off to a new home. I think 1 will be eaten, the other 2 let loose on a farm. I now have 4 for bantam EE roos trying to crow, along with the Spitzhauben roos are giving it a try as well.

I dripped candle wax on the eggs I tried to save. . If it's not leaking, you can try to seal it.

It was not leaking but 5 others were crushed. Stuid USPS. They were packed very well. I think they must have been dropped, tossed, stood on and shaken!

Some people have sealed cracks and had luck hatching cracked eggs. I'm not one of those people. Once an egg gets cracked, bacteria enters the egg... which normally ends with a chick not going full term. It's worth a shot, but don't be disappointed if it doesn't make it. If it does...

Awwww, I'm sorry! What is it with Silkies? I had the same thing happen to some silkies not too long ago. I'd say try to save the one you can. I hope the air cells aren't too bad.
