Awwww, I'm sorry! What is it with Silkies? I had the same thing happen to some silkies not too long ago. I'd say try to save the one you can. I hope the air cells aren't too bad.

Good luck!!!!
Hi there, Jm!

It's not just Silkies... I hatched 2 out of 30 shipped RIR eggs. I suppose it depends on what kind of mood the USPS workers are in as to how your eggs will arrive. I think my eggs went through a couple of soccer matches before they arrived...

Would you....tape...glue...polish seal this egg and set or is it too far gone. It is one my newly shipped silkies.
Some people have sealed cracks and had luck hatching cracked eggs. I'm not one of those people. Once an egg gets cracked, bacteria enters the egg... which normally ends with a chick not going full term. It's worth a shot, but don't be disappointed if it doesn't make it. If it does... :weee
Shslom Ur. Didn't see the post! I agree with you, in my opinion this eggs can be dangerous to other eggs in the bator, I whould pass, if it isn't a very rare breed!

Sorry to hear about them playing football with your eggs.

Sir Ur. How goes it?
It's going. Still terribly busy, but hope to make good progress on the coop this weekend. My babies are 6 weeks old now, and ready to be out of the brooder... so I have to finish up really soon. How's you?

I think that there is a big chance of microbial infection
Good evening, Benny!

You are correct. A crack in the shell is a crack in the cuticle...

It's going. Trying to sell some babies so I can hatch more babies and not be overrun with babies.
