Gotta agree with Banti on that. 

All I can say is, next time I cull I'm putting a bunch of black coffee in a really big mug and leaving it on the counter so I can nuke it in the microwave first thing. I am having the hardest time getting going on the rest of the day - don't even feel like doing the smallest thing. 

Yeah, I know that I am a happier person (and heck, a more productive person, work and home) when my house is tidy. I used to have the habits to keep it that way (sorta) but totally got off track. Trying to begin the slow process of restarting them. 

I have to say, right now my biggest problem is seeing or walking by something that needs to be put up and not just taking 30 seconds to DO IT NOW. Or just putting junk mail on the coffee table (which gets totally cluttered) instead of taking 10 extra steps to put it in the recycling bin. I've GOT to stop doing that.

Animals (no matter how wonderful or loved) do tie us down. Do what is right to take care of yourself - there will be plenty of eggy chickie duckie goosie goatie goodness on the thread for you to enjoy vicariously.  

I have to say, I'm with you there - I culled the Aloha Naked Necks about a month ago, and they were SO beautiful!!! I wasn't very attached to them because I knew I would have to cull most if not all, and they were too small to add to my NN flock as breeders. I was surprised at how hard and upsetting it was BECAUSE they were so beautiful.   I am going to have to cull a bunch of really, really beautiful splash, blue, and black copper maran cockerels soon - and I am NOT looking forward to it.

Yup! I am not up to keeping a buck, so I will pay for stud services from someone when it's time for the does to be bred again - a lot of folks do that. Kids that aren't doelings that you want to keep can be sold (or kept) as wethers, or failing that, raised for meat. 

OK, I'm going to put up some dishes and take some clothes out of the washer. Baby steps...
