I can't believe that I used the tiller by myself today!!

YEARS I have been wanting to! I am so grateful that I know how now (brown cow!)!

Good for you!!!

I have a problem with putting off doing something because it seems to be scary or intimidating somehow. It took me forever to use a circular saw. Still haven't gotten the nerve up to use the chipper I bought - ridiculous, I know, given all the other power tools I use, and the fact that I live alone and do all my yard and house work myself, but there it is. Embarrassing...

Maybe that'll be the goal this summer - get over my fear of the chipper.

Quote: Chippers aren't all that bad. Just make sure your hands stay on your side of the flaps in the feed chute, get rid of loose clothing and/or jewelry, wear sturdy boots & safety glasses, keep long hair pulled back, and watch for stray branches sneaking up on you from behind, & you're good to go.

Yeah, my problem is that I always read the manual. The ENTIRE manual. Once I get through the safety portion, I've managed to terrify myself...

They come with manuals? Wow!

You, my dear lady, are a pure confusion to me.  You don't like earthworms, yet you want a pet snake!

Snakes don't typically get thrown around. Their size means that I can be more sure of where they are.
Some people are afraid of small dogs, not large dogs.

LOL! Okay, I get that!
I don't use the power tools here, because they are so old. Most of the antique tools were stolen by the neighbors/cousins ( The garage now gets locked) but, the remaining tools are still very old, and I'm afraid of them malfunctioning. Also, I do not have the clamps I need to hold the wood. Otherwise, I don't mind using power tools. I just haven't in a while.
I had to teach myself how to use a riding lawnmower, and take the drain apart in the bathroom. Mrleeroy taught me to use my tiller. I will be eternally grateful to him for that, and many other things!

A lot of people are afraid of pressure canners. Fortunately, no one has ever told me a horror story about theirs blowing up. Regardless, I bought the safest one on the market. It has six locks on it!
