I resemble that.
After I get back with my new well trained border collie and my nice unneeded olive egger cockerel I need to butcher, I'll try to post my list.
At least I'll get back my water fount and 7 lb. rooster feeder I loaned her.

I didn't detect that.

She has been a great friend and given me lots of help here but she's losing friends at an alarming rate.
She's a heavy drinker and when she drinks, she doesn't eat food.
Her bones are as brittle as an 80 year old and she's just a little over half that. I took her to lunch Thursday and she ordered a BBQ turkey sandwich from which she had a tiny nibble, while I ate a whole slab of baby back ribs.
She took the turkey sandwich home along with some fruit I got for her at the farmer's market. Each day I asked her if she had eaten and she said yes. I asked her how the turkey sandwich was and she said it was great. I went to take her to lunch yesterday and the turkey sandwich was still intact in the fridge. She was planning on going on the sustainable living tour but forgot about it. At 4:30 PM she was still in bed. After she got dressed she threw herself headlong into the wall - smashing her head and breaking her hip.
I was so angry, I handed her her cell phone and told her to call 911. I fed and watered all her animals, took the dog for a long walk and left. I got a text at 3:30 this morning asking if I could take her dog for a while.

Quote:

It's getting to that point. I wasn't planning on calling her again till I got the text about the dog.
She's a great dog.
I'm sorry to hear about your friend

Hi i have just started my hatch with Cayugas after a 6 hour drive :p my bad... Cant wait school is almost out so i will be hovering over the bator! If anyone wants to chat feel free to pm me!
Good Luck!

After reading reviews I think I am going to pick up a Genesis Hova Bator /w egg turner. That said, can anyone tell why Brinsea products are so expensive, specifically, the octagon 20 ADV?

I can understand different materials and import fees. But is it really worth two 1588s? When a lightbulb and a fan can do the trick, what justifies the $400+ price tag?

Inquiring minds want to know. (I hope this is the right thread for this, I didn't think it needed it's own.)
as sally said build one
brinseas are way overpriced but do a good job

Candling for the last time tonight, lock down in the am.

and what no pictures of the ducklings???

Well it's been a week and I am 4,000+ posts behind so I am not doing a read back. Anyone want to sum up the last week and give me any of the helpful info that was posted??
Welcome back!!

Oh my goodness. WHY does it have to be this hatch, the breeds I especially wanted???

I just checked on the chicks. The two older guineas had sat on the MHP and pushed it down. Zeta, the lavender keet, and Enya were under it. Zeta is dead, Enya was near the edge so I think she's okay, and the keet is on my lap after getting rinsed to cool her off quickly... I cannot belive how much is happening to these babies!

Oh my first pea chicks hatched today.
didnt happen if there are no pictures

@MotorcycleChick . Thank you for your help last night. The little chick didn't make it. I just finished getting it out of shell. It's head was completely in the wrong place and it's brain exposed

Banti watching over the littles.
of course Banti is watching over the babies, sounds just like her

Unfortunately, they never will. There's a world of difference from being banged by sorting machines, tossed into trucks, and bounced around in transport ... and being gently picked out of the nest and crefully set in an incubator. The best you can hope for is to hatch a few shipped eggs, then collect your own eggs The following spring. That's the cold, hard reality of shipped eggs...

good luck with your coop

Hello!

I do think I did right by trying to help, it just wasn't formed correctly.
This was my first hatch with shipped eggs and my most stressful ever. I have two chicks though, one of each that I wanted. So trying to look at the positive.
thumbsup.gif
yes

I did the float test on my remaining two eggs just now (beginning day 24). They both floated low, but I didn't notice any movement. Does this mean they are dead? Or that I should leave them in a bit longer? They are both very dark olive eggs that I cannot see inside of, so candling doesn't help.
probably dead sorry

I should go. I need a serious attitude adjustment.

I have a emergency I have a chick that keeps acting like she is dieing and I fed her sugar water and it didn't help plz help me

? is she warm enough? did you try cocci medications? what is she acting like?

Good point about heat... Sick chicks the age of the one in the video should probably be kept in a brooder that's at 85 degrees.
