I've been thinking about something for the past few weeks......

Recently, I was sitting in a waiting room and saw a family. They all had their phones out and were texting or playing games. They were not interacting with each other or talking. Increasingly, I have been seeing this. Young children that do not have any interests. They go to school and do stuff on their phone, and that is what their life is. I see this especially in those living in city environments. Obviously, I see many families that are not this way- It is the ones that are that way that scare me.

Where are we headed as a country if all kids are learning is school subjects and how to tri-star an Angry birds level, and not so much important life lessons?

I've seen my grandkids, even my own kids, now in their 40', texting one another when they're both in the same room!

Good heavens, this thread moves fast! Thanks for the welcome and understanding, everyone. Yeah, it's kinda… impossible to say "no" under certain circumstances. I have turned down their offer of hatching eggs, but they are determined it seems. I already have two broodies and chicks from the same people here, the first, an OEG (LF) hen and 4 OEGxAseel chicks, followed by an AseelxIrish Game hen and assorted chicks. I hope games are less interesting to hatch than they are to raise. I thought I had feisty broodies before… ouch, but they're awesome.

Well, folks, I've been on here since 8 o'clock getting caught up, but the grass is dry enough to mow now, so I'd best get at it; before DW gets home & drops a honey-do list on me.
