Yes last year we put some chicks out that hadn't been on medicated feed- a number of them died and then it got around to some of the younger birds that had been on medicated feed and I lost a handful of them as well even giving corid... Which saved a large number of birds last year. I've also heard people recommend sulfet. There's a thread on here if someone can find it with the proper dosing for corid (for calves) for chickens, it's very clear and helpful, perhaps someone could link it?Many people do feed medicated feed, but it does not prevent all outbreaks of coccidiosis, and it does *not* treat coccidiosis. Does that make sense?
