Last candling. Day 17 on this Lil fella....has always had a wonky air cell. What do you guys make of this? Lots of movement but worried he will pip in the wrong spot. He's under a broody.

Honestly? I understand your concern, but leave it alone under the broody. Candling is fun, but disturbing a hen can be disastrous. I think all of us that incubate can tell you about an egg (or a dozen :th ) that pipped and hatched at the wrong end. Like my last two ducklings that I hear quacking to get out of the run!
So, leave it alone, and hope for the best. Mother Nature will take care of it. :hugs

That is the biggest one.

Awe!!

I am nice to everyone here, (almost )

If it's under a hen, leave it alone; she doesn't need or want your help, candling or any other way. Hens have been hatching eggs long enough that they've pretty much got the procedure down pat.

Thanks....this is her first time and mine as well..it's fascinating to me. I was curious about that bubble like are in the air cell......someone suggested this my imply drawdown.

My first candling day 7 of shipped eggs. I have been doing a dry hatch. My AC are all over the place. Some look good, some have lost to much , some have lost too little. They are such a random assortment of eggs also. Some are polish some are orp.. Some of the orp eggs are huge. The polish tiny. I can't even see ar AC in some of them. Any advice?
What's your ambient RH running? Ideally, it should run 30-35% I have a batch in myself, running completely dry (I'm experimenting), and my RH is running right around 30% overnight; a bit lower during the day.

IMO, with my somewhat limited experience, the eggs showing no AC's are probably clears, but it won't hurt anything to leave them in, just in case. If any of the more experienced members disagree with my assessment, they'll likely weigh in. If they do, listen to them over me,
