It was actually my first thought, but for some reason the one thing I forgot to check. Chaos is the one that reminded me to check it.

CH, one of these days you gotta learn never to say "guess what" on a chicken forum. You are gonna get "chicken butt" as an answer every single time.....

8 of 40 quail hatched. The cat got 4 and 2 others died (hatched after cat was there) I have my doubts on the 2 left. I contacted the EBay seller. Letting them know I understand all the variables in incubation and the seller can not be responsible for the hatch, but let them know I think the 4 day shipping time contributed to the poor hatch.
The won the auction on the Thursday before Memorial Day. The eggs got here on Tuesday and I set them Wensday. The freshest the eggs could have been was 5 days old. I was surprised the seller shipped them on a Friday and the Friday before a 3 day weekend by US mail. I let the seller know because of the poor hatch I am once again in search of quail eggs. Doesn't hurt to ask....right?
