was at a campground in MD last summer and they rented goats for clearing the poison for campers they would move from site to site and suggested no one touch the goats lol

A cursory look at the dead hen has be thinking egg binding. Her vent area was swollen like a softball. It's so hot here it is hard to tell. I quadruple bagged her and she's in the freezer to kill the maggots. I want to open her up in the morning when it's a tad cooler to try some detective work. I'll have to be done by 7. That's when the trash comes. She's too big for the compost I have now.
She's an olive egger so I'm not sending off for a necropsy since I don't use them for breeding.

how is the weather in Maine?

Cooler than here. It's 99 now and may get between 103 and 107. As @daxigait so eloquently pointed out, that's with high humidity. It is brutal.

When I was up there we tried swimming in the ocean it was freezing in August! We then found an inland lake to swim in lol

We cant receive or send eggs abroad but I think that a good idea is using one of this This polystyrene pool nuddl , the egg can enter nicely in the middle, and you can cut it in any size needed.

too expensive lol, this is cheaper, alhtough not near as festive
