Do you have a Tractor Supply or vet near you that you could get to that has Amprolium or corrid? Post the pictures of poop, and if Kathy says it is I will see if I can help.

400

Kathy says that she is busy today, and was hoping the rest of us would help him.

For what you said, silly!
Good night!
Girl, the fact that I had to stop driving while I was married doesn't mean I never drove.
well derr, i know that

I will night
good keep them in for a few days AT LEAST, probably more like a couple weeks

Pfft, you wish.
yes we do!!!

So what breeds are everyone's favorites / what do you keep?
My favorites are
Barnevelders
Dominique's
Brahmas
Olive/Easter eggers

We also keep
Orps
We have a maran chick
Some silkie chicks
2 New Hampshire reds
Sussex
Rocks
And mixes because mixes are great!

We plan to eventually keep orloffs as well but we are focused on the top 4 mixes ATM though we don't breed doms or brahmas yet, we are slowly building up our flock of doms and I think next year will think about that. And I wouldn't mind hatching a few brahmas either!

I'm Curious what you're all breeds of choice are?!
mutts, EE, sultan, polish, D'Anvers, and something else i forgot

Hey all thank you for the support. I really need it. We lost the first chick about 5 pm and at 9:45 PM the second breathed it's last in DH2B's hand.

It also pooped as isn't uncommon in death but the stool was bloody and I take that as confirmation. The water is being treated and o have been syringe feeding them raw egg yolk laced with corid and electrolytes.

Is there anything else we can do? Am I doing anything wrong?

Would it hurt the littles inside to be put on a preventative dose? What age can they safely be given the corid?

As for the fox we look for it every night and wait up trying to catch it in the act. The flock has always been locked up every night. We are, however, locking them up earlier BC of it now but we never know when it will come.
so sorry!
@casportpony for corid Q

Greetings, earthlings that are still awake!
I locked up the flock, and went back into the house. The dog was off doing… Whatever it is that dogs do.
When he finally came to the door to be let in, I realized that a skunk had just sprayed right outside the door! The dog was acting weird, and would not come near me for me to check him. Since the smell of skunk was already in my nostrils, I could not tell if he had gotten hit.

Thank God he wasn't!!!
So, I will wish all of you a good night. Sweet dreams, sleep well, may everyone wake up to a coop full of pullets/hens!
ewww, i hate skunk smell

Corid, at the correct dose will have them showing improvement within a day. By three days they will usually look completely normal.

You need to threat all of the littles. I would go with the 1tsp of powder per gallon for 7 days and then the 1/2tsp of powder for the next 7 days...and watch them carefully for signs of cocci to return.

I bet Kathy posted the chart but I will post it again since this is a busy thread.

Another nice evening on the lake.....only caught some small walleyes though....
Beautiful!!

Maran is bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning! Woke to a loud "baaaawk" and the sound of her attempting to escape the bath tub.
YAYYYY!!!!

you'll find time i have more pictures for you

Unfortunately, I found a local handyman yesterday. He will be by this afternoon to fix the faucets that have been leaking for about two months. I plan on having the cinnamon rolls come out as he is arriving. Is that mean (if he is diabetic and can't have any) or smart (he will be more likely to give me good prices)?
even a diabetic wouldnt refuse homemade deliciousness

What about me with cinnamon rolls?
hu.gif
YES!!

I'm going to big town today (an hour drive) to get hair cuts for me and the kids. I'm about to shower and put on nice clothes. If that doesn't trigger goat labor, I don't know what will.
LOL!! maybe a thunderstorm

whiskey stones, please do not water down my drinks

I once went into a TA where the waitress brought me Scotch on the rocks... Scotch tape over a glass of ice.
ROFL!!!

Well one of my chicks had died that make two that has died on me and I need that cocci treatment stuff but I don't have the money to get the stuff
can you borrow it from a friend or relative, maybe ask your parents?

looks very sick

@casportpony

And I don't have the money to get the stuff to heal them
