Going into lock down tomorrow night! Whoop ! Will start talking to them Wednesday and look for wiggling and listening for peeps.
 
What's that? You guys want to help me catch cockerels tonight? Okay! I have nooooo problem with that! :D
Seriously, I have no idea where they even sleep. Let alone, how many I have. I saw one the other day that I thought was a hen. I'm not sure how I'm going to do this in the dark. It is a good thing that I have until noon tomorrow to catch any that I leave behind.
It is also a good thing then I'll be learning how to process by myself tomorrow. No matter how careful I try to be, I'm sure I'm going to miss one or two.
As far as not knowing where they sleep, I simply mean that I do not count heads right now. I have too many birds in the coop to even try! So, I know that I have some that were sleeping in the rafters and some that were sleeping on walls. I covered the access to the rafters today.

Good luck hunting them down! Fish net may be needed, extend the handle though! My guys we sneak up on on the roosts, Fester hates it and I think he learned his potty mouth from me. You should hear the names he calls us!

Oak splinters but can be worked. Cherry and hickory would be my choice. Olive if you ever get a chance to pick some up from someone's tree works really well and is pretty. Buckeye burls turn awesome bowls I just haven't done bowls. I once got an oak burl 3 feet tall and bigger around than I could reach. It cost me 4 pens made from it. Made salt and pepper shaker out of it. Your fathers a youngster my dad is 99 100 this year, doesn't do much anymore.

You need a good head lamp girl! All back yarders need hands free&a head lamp!
 
Sheesh trying to catch up on thread but I keep feeling like I'm either on Zillow or a resort.. How did I get so far behind?
