Pensmaster I will talk to you tomorrow. My vision is going blurry, time for bed. Thank you first trying to help calm me down and figure it out.
:frow Hope you wake up to a bunch of new chicks
Woke up to find pip#3! Hallelujah! Come on chickies go go go! Basement temp may be affecting it. I had thought it might, should have moved bator but I don't have anywhere I could have placed it without it being in the way or where it wouldnt be bumped. Wonder if wrapping it in a towel would help? Quail eggs going in next.
X2 on the watering! Can you have a rainbarrel? I know some places it's forbidden.
A rainbarrel wouldn't do me any good, we don't get any rain. We do run our reverse osmosis drain out to the area outside that window. It's mostly shade though. It first goes into a bucket. I scoop water out of that to water my plants. Probably not the best, since it's all the crap the RO takes out of our water. :sick
You can complete the outfit with that!
I love that too!! I want that for the next time I go skiing!!!
Dang I was afraid you would say that about the rain. Yeah try to use icky water left from chickens and if you can scoop out some from your bath or sink after dishes are done. Have done all three here before during a really dry summer when my barrels went empty when we had our old well.(I even ran the drain hose from washing machine to a huge plastic tote for water for plants outside.)That well casing collapsed later that winter during the coldest it had been here in years. I just hope to try to give you a few more ideas. Wash water may stink but it worked. Plumbing it was tricky part. After it went to the tote I filled a bucket then carried it to my barrel and filled it. I use to have 3 rain barrels, now only two. I cut down my flower bed so less watering and weeding.

1000

Ummm..... Maybe!
I get that, especially with bears and cougars about. A grizzly killed a mountain biker at Glacier National Park a couple days ago.
Bears were supposedly extirpated from Missouri in the early 1900s but on several occasions we saw tracks on our farm in the 60s. I also saw 2 cubs running up the hill as I was approaching the creek that crossed the farm.
I also saw a cougar there around the same time, which the Dept. of Conservation claimed weren't in MO.
They now say there are between 350 and 500 bears in the southern half of the state with a healthy breeding population.  And they now acknowledge there are cougars scattered across the state.
There was even one caught on a trail cam in St. Louis county a couple years ago.
Over the last 30 years I had cougars come into my camp at night. Once on the Current river and another on the Gasconade.
My family was staying in a Mayan hut on the beach in the Sian Ka'an UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. One night a Jaguar was on the thatched roof clawing away trying to get in before I chased it off.

I saw that on the news yesterday morning

two 40s may work for a cooler that size.
the heat element in a little giant is 40 watts.

I just saw it recently.

I think it is lack of genetic diversity. Small gene pool.

I'm no longer a football fan since Walmart owner took the Rams back to LA.
What a worm.

The guy I play pool with in afternoons is 74, 10 yeas my  senior. He's really good.

What did you end up using?

100% silicone.

Good morning Banti! Have action in my bator again finally! Was worried last night and hubby started making me feel like I am doing it all wrong. Can't wait till he wakes up and sees it. Should make him read Sally's hatching tips and tell him to stow it. Actually told him he can run the quail hatch since he has all the information from watching one TV show.

?! You have changed the date?

No, I am just a strange person, with an odd sense of humor. :D
