It might not have been one of the options but it is a correct answer to the question.

Yeah ........ but ...... ummm .......

@ChickenCanoe

Thanks for the link. Going to try it on my phone. iPad having difficulty pulling it up.

Been to the GFF site. These are 2nd or 3rd generation from them. Not sure they stayed pure.line of single feathers on the leg of one hen. Won't be using her as I'm pretty sure it's not right.

@ChickenCanoe , @sseabass and everyone else that might be curious... peachicks are delicate when young, and they really do best if raised in a proper brooder if they weren't hatched by a hen.

Peachicks will usually lose weight for three to four days, but by day 5 should be gaining weight daily.

Diarrhea in a peachick is never normal.

Some people feed chick starter, but I prefer turkey starter. It's higher in protein and niacin, which is something they need more of.

To teach pea chicks to eat:
·drop ground up chick starter in front of them while talking making 'whee whee 'and 'bup bup' noises. You are mom.
·Point to the food and scratch with finger.
·Once some learn, they will show others.
·Dip nose beaks in water gently to teach them to drink;

So they're like turkeys in being slow starters?
And they need more niacin like ducks?

I know diarrhea isn't normal but it can be common. Especially without probiotics.
