@ChickenCanoeI know, I just thought you might want a couple of layers for eggs while you save yours for incubating.
Yeah, seeing four coons together the other night was a good reminder. Unfortunately, while I am on vacation two of four coops will be dependant on the security of the run and the llama since it does not have an automatic door opener. I just hope I can get a few of this group before I leave. Or I need to leave out lots of cat food.

I have 9 chicks between 5 and 6 weeks of age, however only 3 pullets. I have 6 chicks less than a week old and some more hatching today. I'm setting 18 more eggs today. Bless you. I appreciate your generosity. However after over 30 breeds, I'm focusing on only this one, I guess you'll need to stake out the place. I appreciate all the positive thoughts. The only comment of clarification on predators I have is that when people discuss predators, they always refer to them in the singular. We don't have A predator. We have many. We have gazes of raccoons, colonies of opossums, bands of coyotes, skulks of foxes, cowardices of dogs, casts of hawks. gangs of mink and weasels and destructions of cats. I offer these videos that were taken here last night. They were on the same camera. And there were others. Watch this to the end and you'll understand If you don't hang out on your property in a blind all night with night vision glasses or have multiple trail cams scattered across the property - you don't know what's out there.
X2 on the plurality. Guess I was just thinking of the one that got the recent hen. We also have multiple predators. However not mink as you do. Those things sound vicious.

This are nasty an highly invasive silver carps, they create havoc in your river system!
Particularly the Chicago River. Supposed to be great sport with archery equipment
Yes indeed, there is a major concern from their entering the Michigan lake. There are people here that eat it, I don't like carps for me they are riverrats!
