Yes can't anything done unless you start early. And of course the past week had been beautiful so the weekend has to be hot.

Thinking of getting more eggs from the guy I bought from at New Years. Although I thought I was set it looks like one might not even be a Altsterier and one has defects.

Good night guys....just got into Traverse City.....spend a couple of days with my kids.....sad I'm already homesick.

They say we are going to get hotter for the next week. So today 96 will be the last time under 100 for awhile.

We are getting the heat for this whole week. Ugh! Ugh! That's all I have to say about it. Ugh! Going out to give the chickens fresh water a few times a day, and, I will spray them down at times, they've gotten so they just stand there and let me. I also really soak their favorite area down for them a couple of times a day. Man it's hot! I know, some have it warmer than 100 to 102, but we aren't used to that here, especially for a couple of weeks in a row. :/

It's a wonder to me that a snake hasn't claimed such a spot for a nest of its own, and killed your hen. You (or your hen) must be part Irish
