I am back. I think. All chickens accounted for. 104 in shade. 106 if you listen to the weather channel.

Chicken canoe the eggs I received from breeder were 55 grams. The six chicks the broody hatched of the Altsterier are around 50. Alt least that's what they are weighing in at today. Thanks for the links. I'm going to view them from pad instead of phone.

H I everyone have you and your chickens survived the heat.
@Pensmaster
Sorry, I wasn't on last night. Dang cloudburst caused a roof leak.
I think I understand now. The original eggs were 55 grams. I don't think you have a problem. How old are the chicks?.
I might have missed the whole story but I get that you have some adult Alsteriers (pairs?) and some chicks that just hatched?
From this point on, it's about how you feed them.
Get some good probiotics in them if possible.

Where'd everyone go?
Putting buckets under water leaks. 2 3/4" of rain in just over an hour.

LOL! Good night! Don't forget your wine!
Did you cook that on the hood of your car?

I used to walk 5 miles to school & back, uphill both ways, through waist-deep snow

I think that's possible. A switchback trail up the mountain, then an elevator to the bottom. Well, maybe not.

Dang I rarely dream but I had a dream my lil boy was like an amazing soccer player..... he dont even play soccer

mayber I should let him eh?
Why not?

I had a dream about a week ago about chicks hatching. But they were all the wrong color. In the dream, for some reason I had 2 incubators that were at school. After the chicks started hatching, I found out another professor had an incubator there and students had swapped eggs between the 3 incubators so no one knew which was which. I wasn't happy.

If I don't get the turkey pen done, I will make the poult and extra cockerels live in the duck pen. I want to fatten them up, and that turkey needs to start now if I am going to get any use out of it this year.
You should have time to get good size on the turkey by November. Is it a tom?

Geesh!
I spend over an hour @ Lowes picking up an online order that was supposedly ready yesterday afternoon.
I finally get home, 50 posts behind, & by the time I get caught up everyone's gone bye-bye.
What a revolting development!

@ChickenCanoe

Bummer on the roof and internet.

Yes I have/had two trios of Altsteirers. One hen has small feathers on legs otherwise she's good as far as I can tell. The theres the one with different color and floppy comb. One rooster great shape one with slightly bent comb.
6 Chicks of theirs hatched 7-14 by broody BCM. All six still doing well.
Eggs of the adult hens are coming in at 50 grams now if scale is accurate. I need to calibrate as I think it's weighing light. Last calibrated in January
