Me too! When my mom bought her current house eeek!

@kwhites634

Whites this is why they keep me around. Home is supposed to be 100% ready for owner to move in.

If that's what the new owner's been promised, that's the way it should be; don't come to me with a list of excuses why it isn't.
I bought a mower from Montgomery Ward one time, and was told it would be ready the next day. I went to pick it up & was told the truck had broken down & my mower wouldn't be ready 'til the next day. They actually thought I was dumb enough to believe that my mower was on a broken truck somewhere on I-70, and was going to stay there overnight w/o getting heisted...this is Baltimore / Washington suburbs, mind you. However, I went along with their game, 'til the next afternoon, when my mower still wasn't there. I told them I'd be there at a certain time; either my mower or the store manager had better be there. Neither was. I canceled the order, got my money back, & took my business elsewhere.

Yep and that's what we try and avoid. Too many things can still go wrong but we are highly thought of in the building trades. Quite a team effort. My boss is local boy that made it good.

I am a cruel second time mother, I will admit it.

I ran my oldest son all over the east coast with a premier soccer league, spent more cash on hotels and soccer games than I would ever like to admit, he gets scholarship to college tells me he isnt playing soccer anymore...... ok then pay for your own college, he did and is a mechanical engineer and makes more money than I would ever have thought he would in his first few years, I cant imagine what he is up to now, and he travels over the states to other plants and has some great opportunities. Proud he made the decision but oh the pain of those years traveling for soccer.

I told the young kid no soccer

Ooh.

We never had to travel except once but we ran kids all over town every day. My daughter only played softball one year and soccer once but she was in dance her whole life.
My son played on 2 baseball teams a year, a soccer team, a basketball team and a volleyball team.

I won't tell you about the summer of my discontent when I had to take my wife to work and daughter to school every day cause she wanted to free up time for more electives the following year.
sorry about the roof that stinks!!

woohoo!! have fun!!
I know what's wrong, it's just getting up there to fix it. Just for today, I have to assure the gutter is clear. Except for the 2 porches, the entire house runoff goes into a single 20' section of gutter. If it rains too hard, it can fill up before it clears even though the downspout is 6" round.

@ChickenCanoe

Bummer on the roof and internet.

Yes I have/had two trios of Altsteirers. One hen has small feathers on legs otherwise she's good as far as I can tell. The theres the one with different color and floppy comb. One rooster great shape one with slightly bent comb.
6 Chicks of theirs hatched 7-14 by broody BCM. All six still doing well.
Eggs of the adult hens are coming in at 50 grams now if scale is accurate. I need to calibrate as I think it's weighing light. Last calibrated in January
How old are the adults? Give it some time and the eggs should get bigger.
Upping essential amino acids can help with egg weight.
Once eggs get to size, improving nutrition of hens will help hatchability.
I should let you know, I really shouldnt waste money but Lordy I need a vacation!!!!
A good vacation is anything but a waste of money. A mediocre or less vacation is a waste of money.

How do you calibrate a grams scale? Weighing something of a known weight?
There are calibration weights of various gram increments.

It isn't hot enough here to cook on the car.
It's a hen. She will live if she isn't a good size. No point wasting her life.

Sorry for the issues
It was hot enough to cook here on a car last week. One of the news stations baked biscuits on a car.
I think frying eggs would be easy.

If she's not big enough for you, will you get her a boyfriend?
If she's smaller, she'll still taste just like turkey. It would be better to use her this fall than wait another year if you're not going to breed. Or you could use her for Christmas.
