Well after this afternoon I defiantly know what it means to "run around like a chicken with its head cut off "but the thing is my chicken had its head but after I was running after it to catch it and kids were laughing at me its lucky to have a head. Last time I let them two boogers out without some kind of fence enclosure!!!

The broodies beat me up, but the six active chicks are in with them. It took a minute for them to stop screaming at me, but I heard (and dared to peek) them clucking, and all seemed okay.

If I wanted to spend $125 total or less....which incubator would you guys suggest? I'm think the max I would hatch out is 12-24 at once.

Please let me know if they respond. I emailed them back when we were talking about them in February sometime stil haven't heard.

Here's the results of last week and this weeks processing. 21 in the freezer. Impressed with both Dark Cornish and my mix. If the Dark Cornish had looked more uniform as far as shape and comb I might have kept a trio. I did keep 2 hens for the NN. Average of 2.25 lbs just under 15 weeks old. This weight excludes skin, backs and organ meat.

Well I have no coop yet.. They are staying in one of those huge totes( that fit Christmas trees) so I had to get them back in. Any suggestions on how to make that easier?
