I can help with cheese, and get one of the yogurt makers goat yogurt is really yummyThe Kinder goat gets too big, and eats too much. The Nigerian Dwarf seems the best fit. Now, who wants to teach me to make cheese? Then explain why cheesecloth is sold in two departments. Automotive and crafts. And while baking is also a craft, it is in with paint. Not the chocolate disks and cake stuff.
Sorry that happened. Someone had there dog do that this last spring.Well, it' sback to the drawing board for us. - my 12 year old and 2 year old decided they wanted to "see" the incubator and dropped it, breaking all the eggs while I was out with the baby chickens in their new pen.... (they still are in the house, but I took them out there for a few minutes to explore.)
However, I was able to get the humidity to 26% over night, and keep the temp stable at 99.6.... with out the eggs in it. So... maybe this will work out better. It was not fun cleaning egg yolk off my bathroom floor. :/
I have a Nubian that gives milk that has no goat taste and is really good. I am really finicky about goat milk if it is goaty at all. It really varies from goat to goat and diet to diet. If you want one you might want to by your first as a just freshened goat that you can try the milk. It is a bit more expensive to buy one just freshened, but you would know. You could also shop for one now where they are later and some people are drying them up and you would know. I have two Saanen and one has great sweet milk, and the other is a bit goaty for me as milk, but she gives a lot that makes great yogurt, cheese, and cooking/baking milk.![]()
You acknowledged him!!
That stinks.Duckling hasn't done more than look inside the incubator.
I've never liked goat milk in any form, but finally had some chocolate goat milk (white wasn't available) and tolerated it. I am under the impression that the Nigerian dwarf milk is the right taste for me.
Definitely a cockerel on the LO if they are nine weeks. Sorry.Morning all! We let our two 9 week old babies out to free range with the big girls for the first time last night. The big girls ignored them for the most part, but they are SO spooky and crazy that they would flip out if anything moved near them. Took a bit, but my daughter finally caught them so we could put them back up. I think they are almost ready to join the flock. I was trying to hold out hope that the little Lavender Orpington is a hen, but I don't think I can remain in denial. I have known since 3 weeks old that the Olive Egger is a rooster (unfortunately, as I really wanted the olive eggs!); but was holding out hope on the Lavender...oh well! Here they are checking out the yard. Smokey & Pokey![]()

How right you are!
How's the FIL?
Thank for asking
Stabilized, unfortunately that is the best we can hope for.
Is he at home?
No, at the last 10 months he lived in Nursing Home, ( the mother is also not very helty ) because the family, even with an extra help, couldn't take care of him, he needs 24/7 observation so the best solution, in this condition, was this
Nursing Home which is a very new one, and there he could had the medical supervision of professionals doctors and nurses that he needed. It was a very difficult decision to do, but we didn't had any other option.
