DD's favorite hen was dead in the yard this morning. Body intact, no blood that I could see. She was on her back, wings out, snow angel style. Under a tree. It was fairly peaceful. She was only 2 years old, and australorp from the country feed store in a Cajun French town.

Quote: Collars & halters share one drawback; the animal can get a back foot or tree snag hung up in either if they're too loose, but the halters can be worked loose. I had a horse that kept losing halters; I kept a calf collar on him instead.
