Not quite that bad; only 6" on each side. We're going to have to get creative; I don't see a couple of 70 year old guys trying to manhandle trusses 8' off the deck while standing on ladders. That sounds like an accident waiting to happen, 'specially when BIL's cardiologist tells him he shouldn't be doing anything like that.

Ok not good for BIL

For some reason I thought you were going to have a 6 foot overhang.

You can slide the truss up the wall from the inside of the shed and then put the other side of the truss on the opposite wall while letting the point hang down to the ground. They will be supported by the walls upside down at this point Have you hung them like that before? You won't need a ladder for that. Just two of you getting them into position. Once they are resting on the walls with the peak pointing to the floor you can use a forked 2x4 at the peak to swing them up to the guy on the wall. Before you reach the end of the trusses be sure to swing the final ones up or you'll run out of room to swing them up

No, I've never hung any at all, but that's an excellent idea. Anything I've ever built has a shed roof; high in front, low in back. Almost did that on this one.

You'll be happier with the truss roof. just make sure the 2x4 doesn't slip on the way up and have the next eave block somewhat nailed to help stop the truss in the proper place.

Good night @Sally Sunshine Catching up after being away for a bit. I had a wonderful vacation with granddaughters in Klamath Falls OR. Been working too many 10+ hour days since I've been back. I had a terrible incubator mishap/malfunction complete with exploding eggs. Pulled myself out of sadness and guilt from losing so many well-developed cooked chicks. Now broody my daughter due 10/2 keeps going into labor and is now on bed rest. Her two boys are 3 & 6 years old and full of energy, almost too much for me to handle. Time to pull up my boot straps and get back on the horse! I picked up chicks & eggs locally & even put a few of our own in the bator. Gitty up!
