I don't think this chick is going to make it. It seemed to perk up a tiny bit, but I think it aspirated some of the electrolyte solution. It went completely limp and I massaged it rigorously and it started breathing again. It's in my shirt again so I can monitor it. I had to put another egg in the incubator that the broody left (pipped and still breathing at this point). I can't keep opening incubator now because of that one. i hear a faint gurgling sound when it breathes.

How it flips in incubator.

When it seemed like it was doing better (around 9am today).

And now... It's laying limp but still breathing.

Will lift its head occasionally but not opening eyes.

evil purely evil!

The chick is still hanging in there. How often should I try giving it the electrolyte solution to drink? I'm worried about it aspirating now.
the chick just hatched, I am not sure if your aspirating it, to even do it. I use a qtip if I do at all, and then I press out so it doesnt put more than a drop in the front of the beak, sorta like a sponge to wet the whistle. I have never used a syring or anything other than qtip after I killed two chicks aspirated them. If they are not drinking its a tough call. she can have other issues you are unaware of, so please dont stress. your doing what you can, I would let her go a bit and see how she does. she has her yolk in there to live off of at least two days how old is she

Try placing a drop on end of beak to encourage her to drink on her own. Had one i thought would die bc hardly ate or drank days 2-5. Didnt starve tho, nutrition from yolk? Finally started and wouldnt stop eating. Now a healthy cockerel w/some girls of his own! Your attention byitself is good for the chick i believe. Fingers crossed!

She just hatched yesterday while I was at work. She's still breathing and moving occasionally. I have another in the incubator now that just hatched and they are snuggled together. Letting them stay together until it fluffs out. I had to repair my brooder heater and am waiting on glue to dry so I can set up a space for the little weak one.
