Thank you everyone!!! This being my first time incubating/hatching has been very stressful! And I'm sure I've done a dozen things wrong,besides making my own bator, but I am so happy that 2 have made it so far, and I'm trying to be patient on the other 5 (even the one that is day 23 today) I have a few more sleepless nights that's for sure! But watching my 2 little red fuzz balls make it all worth it

Lessons for today: Ducks are bigger than you think. Ducks can get into spots you didn't think. That net you bought? Not as useful as you were hoping. Works for catching chickens though! Chicks are tiny and fast. You will not catch them with that big net. You are not always as sure as you think. Sometimes even the obvious is confusing.


I told someone I had nine ducks. I have eight. They knew that, I forgot. Duh!
I was looking at Banti and Chris. Banti is a boy. He has the right feathering. I am still doubting myself.
Six ducks are in the coop, and the two original Pekin seem happy. The two chicks raised with/by Christopher and Banti don't seem to care that the ducks are penned up.
I can't find a chick that was there last night.

I've missed the whole weekend, I can't catch up.

Who here is gluten free? I had five gluten allergies in my group this week. I made soft garlic breadsticks last night!



They were the side for the spaghetti casserole. I also made pancakes, cookies, s'mores, and French toast this morning. It all turned out so well!

Can i come down and live with you??

My wife just made some incredible Mexican style deviled eggs. Her normal ones are to die for but these took it up a notch.
Blended with the egg yolk is avocado, lime juice, serrano chili, chives, cilantro and salt.

Yummy!!

Good afternoon all! I've been busy getting ready for the next compliance officer visit. I just came across this duck video and it's makes me want a duck!!!

But really - who thinks to give a baby a duck as a present???? I think most people go with stuffed animals, or teddy bears.....

I don't know if I will incubate eggs again, but if I do I tell you what for 1 I will buy a quality incubator and not make one out of a Styrofoam cooler. And most importantly I will not EVER have a staggered hatch again (add new eggs to the incubator when others fail) because I've been hatching eggs since Wendsday night and I tell you what, I haven't gotten a bit of sleep! I've drank more coffee between 10-12 than I ever have in my life, ive worried about these little eggs to the point of which I question my sanity lol I don't know how yall do it! I'm exhausted and stressing and driving myself crazy all at the same time!
