That's why I finally moved the incubator out of my bedroom. I had a batch of 18 chicks (21 eggs) that each screamed until I put them in the brooder. I had two dis that may have died from my opening the incubator. I don't care! Those chicks were loud, and I needed sleep!!
Speaking of which... Goodnight! Have fun with the hatch! :weee

I can finally get some sleep tonight!!!!
Congratulations.
I feel you on throwing out the incubator but you may be able to salvage some of the parts.

Congratulations!

Hatching usually isn't so bad, you were just thrown into unexpectedly.

I had an emergency work on my kitchen sewerage. DW have found all the kitchen sink full with water, so I started in the sink no problem there, in the control box outside no problem there, so the only conclusion is the sewerage!

So now I am clean and have a nice smell, but can't sleep! So I am resting before going to bed.
Sweet!

Not at all! But a " man got to do what a man got to do!" If I was calling a plumber in this ouer it would
Cost me at least 250$! SO I think that 250$ for 2 ouers work is a good payment!

I do almost anything by myself! Construction, building, carpentring, plummeting, ruffing, gardening electricity work, ect the only thing that I don't understand in it almost noting are cars engines!

because of that I have a grate mechanics!
I do virtually everything here including vehicle work.

Good afternoon y'all.... Errands run, horses exercised, coop cleaned, naughty guineas caught, dog run fenceposts set, sultans moved out of quarantine, and house a little bit cleaner. Is it bedtime yet??

Haven't given into the urge to set more eggs yet.....
Good work.

I'm looking into putting a solar system on the coop, mainly to run lights and heat lamps any thoughts on this
Good plan. It will be great for lighting, especially if using LEDs but not for heat lamps. Solar power with enough umph to provide heat is very expensive.

I may pull those eggs tomorrow. I really don't need any chicks.
I need chicks but running out of buildings.

Yep...5 down (minus 2 braces I forgot), 4 to go. Got more lumber ordered. Getting there.
Keep up the good work.

Night hope the trap comes in soon. BIL let me borrow his and a raccoon tore it apart.
I bought a trap from harbor freight and a raccoon destroyed it the first night.
I went out in the morning and it was just a pile of panels on the ground.
Chalk up another trap savvy raccoon.

Hi, I just put them out tonight so I will just get them tomorrow. It is fun, but I already have seven new layers for sale to get my numbers down.
I only have 10 hens and some of those are molting. This is the fewest layers I've had in several years. However, I have about 55 birds between 4 days and 4 months. I also have 5 roosters for those 10 hens so I have decisions to make.

I have a trio coming when it cools from a real breeder of HRIR that I need to make room for. I was just really tempted to get a coulpe of Sapphire since I am getting rid of the CL cocks plus the pullets so I can concentrate on my reds.
Have you contacted any of the breeders in MO from the poultry yearbook?

That sounds great. I tried to get some good Buckeyes from a breeder in Ohio even had them paid for but he ran out before I could get them. He sent money back. Tried again this spring and he's not selling until next year or maybe not anymore. That's when I switched to the Altsterier.
There's a very good breeder of Buckeyes in western MO.
Good luck with your special breed.
