I've yet to see a hen candle an egg...maybe I'm just never there at the right time.

You just have to give them an iPhone.

Don't candle broodies. Especially if they are already that stressed.

They are a bit stressed alright. This is the first time I've had broodies in with the rest of the flock, and one of the hens does not like being bothered by everyone else coming in & laying eggs. The cockerels also sleep in there with her, which she is just not happy about!

@ChickenCanoeNob, I have not checked yet. I got an offer from someone who has shown and bred for years who says he is getting old and chores harder so he is going to move to just a few bantams.
