does he respect you?  fully?   this is the issue with most kids I have had an autistic 13 year old and half the kids I baby sit have been branded with some form of attention issue.  ughhhh  If this is the case, why do they listen here until parents come?  answer, respect, I demand it.  I dont get respect everything stops, I do get close in their face and talk to them in a very Respect me or else tone, yes they are scared crappless obviously but they learn that respect and what I say goes.  You know the little one had his little blue wooby blanket 2 times he snapped the other boy yesterday, last time he got him in the eye, I told him one more snap of the blanket its mommoms!  he told me to shut up and snapped it at me.  If it was my kid his but would hurt, but this little boy no longer has a wooby to sleep with at night. Parent wa s very upset with me, I dont really care, they can have the blanket back after a few months for keepsake!  I am stern with the young kid parents as I am the kids!!

you know that is a purdy horse

:clap :bow
There should be more people in the world like you.

I just don't know what to do when he's not with me.
400
He only gets in trouble for 1, 3, and 5. He got a 4 once, and a 7 once. Never a 2, 6, or 8. So there's hope! :highfive:
yay and remember it's pre k not kindergarten, there's still time!!
Thought everyone would like to see the little survivor today. I decided to name her Mira for miracle. She's much, much more alert today (though she doesn't look like it in the first picture) and feeling a bit better. Her head does stink though. Is that normal? I noticed it when I was flushing it. She's had that eye open all day :) You can probably see that it's stretched back and there's a wrinkle under it but it still works :)
Awesome! She looks much better Depends on smell, is she on an antibiotic yet?
i HATE changing diapers... my first refused to potty train. (he's special needs.) I made him clean up after himself, because I got tired of it LOL Eventually, so did he and he stopped wearing diapers altogether around 3-4... but he was 10 before he stopped having accidents and wetting the bed at night. My second, I had potty trained by 18 months, and we started when she was 15 months. My other son, we are working on it, due to being a 24 week preemie, he's developmentally not quite ready, he's scared of the potty, so I'm just waiting for him to show me signs that he's ready. my newest daughter, wakes up dry most mornings... so I have a feeling she'll be easy to train like her sister, and I'm hoping to train my toddler and her at the same time. If he sees another little kid using the potty, hopefully that will show him "nothing to be afraid" of. That, and his short-gut issues, I wouldn't be surprised to find out he also has some issues from nerve damage from having some of his intestines removed. He just turned 2, but developmentally wasn't considered "2" until august... so if I'm guessing if I give him another year, he'll be ready to just breeze into it. I did find that my brother/sister seemed to have a similar pattern as my kids, girls train faster than boys. LOL
sounds like you know what u r doing, great job!
Aretha (Muscovy) has begun laying. I found two. Now I have questions. How did I miss the egg yesterday? Did she begin now because it was time, or because there is only one drake, not five? Does it matter? No. Do I have a burning desire to know? Yes!! :th
lol don't we all Burning ring of fire popped into my head though

Would some of you Experienced hatchers clear something up for me? I thought I read somewhere on this site that you can increase your chances of hatching females by putting your temp in incubator at a certain degree? If so,please give me those temps. Thanks :)
This is absolutely, uncategorically, untrue!!

Reptiles sometimes ave this capability because they have no sex chromosomes, like mammals and birds. Fish also lack sex chromosomes and some gender-determined by the pH of the water. Some fish also start life as males and later morph into females (saltwater clownfish are an example).

This cannot happen in mammals or birds because they are gender identified at the chromosome level at conception and no environmental changes will alter the chromosomes.

The best you might achieve is a higher mortality of one sex if you stress the eggs just a little too much. The most likely result would be a surplus of males, not females, and very weak or abnormally developed chicks from the ones that did survive.

If you really want to believe someone telling you this is possible, ask yourself this: with millions of chicks being commercially produced each year, the financial stakes are huge with the production of unwanted males. So why don't any of the scientific or business people know about this? Are they just not willing to take the time to investigate such a huge potential increase in profits? If they didn't have to hatch males, they could totally avoid the wrath of the animal rights groups complaining about how they cull the males, plus add millions of dollars to their bottom line.

No, it is simply biologically impossible.

HA, getting him potty trained was a challenge, so I figure by 30, I'll have him bathing on his own... too...

Funny story, I took my oldest to the dentist, and asked her to explain to him the importance of brushing his teeth, properly. She agreed to do it - I figured it was worth a shot... maybe someone who's "not mom" explaining it to him would make it seem more real?

She gave him the talk, explained it in medical details, gave him all the answers he wanted... then, as he was leaving, she patted him on the shoulder and asked him if he was going to start brushing his teeth more.

He turned towards her, smirked and replied "Nope." and walked out.

The look on her face was priceless... and all I could say.. "well, it was worth a shot. Thanks anyways!"

I have to force him to bathe - and brush his teeth and now that he's almost as big as I am, force isn't always as easy as you'd think.

I've actually started threatening to just hose him off outside with cold water, if he's too lazy to use warm water. I'm hoping that makes him think twice.... I always have to get creative when it comes to him.

HE really makes me appreciate my other kids sometimes, because they like to bathe, brush their teeth and hair, and I don't have to threaten or punish to get it done. LOL

I started her on Tylan 50 today, 1/4 cc subcutaneously. The smell is gross but hourly it'll go away as she heals. It smells much better now but I'm positive that's because of the vaseline I put on her head. Another BYC member suggested I coat it with baseline to keep it from drying out.
