Really? They look pretty small.

The hen harrier is 41–52 cm (16–20 in)[3] long with a 97–122 cm (38–48 in) wingspan.[5][6] It resembles other harriers in having distinct male and female plumages. The sexes also differ in weight, with males weighing 290 to 400 g (10 to 14 oz), with an average of 350 g (12 oz), and females weighing 390 to 750 g (14 to 26 oz), with an average of 530 g (19 oz).[3][6] Among standard measurements, the wing chord is 32.8 to 40.6 cm (12.9 to 16.0 in), the tail is 19.3 to 25.8 cm (7.6 to 10.2 in) and the tarsus is 7.1 to 8.9 cm (2.8 to 3.5 in).[6] It is relatively long winged and long tailed, having the longest wing and tail relative to its body size of any raptor occurring in North America.[6]
Maybe they're not actually marsh hawks .... everybody around here calls them that, but I've never seen them that big.

this one was also named pretzel
it was a white polish, i kept its crest trimmed and yet it was still stupid
her other was a white sultan

i wonder what she'll want this time
though i am hoping it comes back
Any tips to trimming polish crested trimmed? We have 3... and I have a feeling i'll need to trim them... and maybe it went broody and went to hide somewhere? Maybe it will surprise you and come back in a couple of weeks with some babies? LOL

The old folks still speak French to each other, but it's largely died out. They didn't teach their kids because it was seen as low class and poor. The kids know a few things, but not enough for conversation.

The worst part about Cajun French is it's so garbled that even their English is impossible to understand. I get so caught up in the cadence I don't even noticed they've switched and I still can't understand a thing.

so true!

We've had two cockerels named Kevin. We ate them both. No more cockerels will be named Kevin.
lol

depends on how determined they are, just give them lots of places to hide
