That your new brooder, Seth? You know that chickens don't swim very well, right? You probably know that already from the recent flooding there. Maybe you're going to use it for ducks.

I have 49ish fowl, but most aren't laying yet.

For some reason, I never know exactly how many birds I have. I usually have to go building by building and add them up.
I know we blood tested 25 birds at or over 4 months of age yesterday. Then there are close to 50 chicks of various ages. Plus 2 batches in the incubator.
It's amazing how they come and go, even with a predominantly closed flock.

In your personal opinion, what makes them better ducks than other ducks!
(we have heat indexes that reach 140+, so I need a fairly heat-survivable breed, too.)

I know the wild ducks, that we had around in the summer growing up in WA state, wouldn't survive a summer down here haha.

Good point.
The primary rule for breed selection of any poultry is make the short list from breeds adaptable to one's climate. That move always removes lots of potential problems.

I count mine by groups. 5 rsl, 5 bsl, 5 ee, 3 OEGB, 3 EHAL babies, etc. Some of the groups overlap, ex. Silkies, roosters, and EHAL babies all have male fowl in them. That way I don't forget a group.

No, but I can engineer one.

I have to go get 9 groups of chickens fed and watered and eggs turned.
I'm helping my son and his girlfriend move today. We're picking the truck up in a little bit. It is a perfect day. It is dry, sunny, low humidity and about 60 F with a high of 80 today.
We moved my daughter this very weekend 2 years ago and it was extremely hot and humid.
