Labor unions have a parade downtown here, including the United Auto Workers of which I've been a member for 40 years.
Among other labor unions involved are the Iron Workers, Steel Workers, Bricklayers, Pipefitters, IBEW (Electrical workers), Machinists, Asbestos Workers, Teachers, Transit workers, Painters, Sheet Metal workers, Police Officers, etc..

I'm not sure I know enough about it to do justice to an explanation. All I know is that it was here before I was, I think. Like everything else here, its become an excuse for companies to have sales to enhance their profits.
