Don't shut up. I like you! And so does everyone else. So, we will get ticked if you are quiet.
The chick can stay in the incubator up to 72 hours. Ideal is more 48.
Eggs 'can" hatch up to day 28. Give it two days (day 23 at least) and then start to get worried. Nature is unexpected. I don't feel comfortable with the opinion that a chick pops out on day 21 without fail, or it is too weak.

I am sitting here, pondering how to make it comfortable to be in the jet tub. Maybe pretend I am in the world's best sauna too?

X2, I've found that the ones that hatch a day late usually hatch the healthiest. If I run a higher temp and have them hatch on day 21, they have open navels. Day 22 hatchers are clean, quick, and healed. I'm thinking that's because I have an insanely fast pip to hatch time- Sometimes only 8 hours.

uh oh. I've heard of that happening. that's potentially dangerous, right? how do you normally fix it?

Put it in a tea cup with a moist paper towel. Allow to sit for a day or so, then drink.

I so agree! I had some roommates from... Another place. The one thing I said when they asked if I would move in with them, was that I got my own bathroom. The shower was shared, but the toilet was MINE! I always knew when someone had been in there. I felt very violated. Of course, there is a story or ten behind that.

Having only one bathroom in this house, I am having trouble sharing even with just Duckling. When her father uses my bathroom (or mother. She is gross too) I practically put on a Hazmat suit to clean! IDK what I am going to do when Duckling is using the bathroom all by herself.

Some intensive training will be happening. Though it already is.

I don't try to guess parentage until much later. Too many changes happen.

My daughter went through a phase with sloppy wiping. I banned her from my bathroom, because she'd leave poop smears on the toilet and the sink.

I had a huge tantrum about it, and she stopped doing it... kids. are. disgusting. LOL

But, most of them are trainable. haha!

I clean my bathroom every 2-3 days because I can't handle sharing and the concept of germs that aren't mine. haha

mine was pipped last night when I came in, and was hatched out this morning.

None of the other eggs showed any signs of hatching... yet. But I think there's only one other super viable egg.

this one of four, got it in a container with a damp towel under it fingers crossed,

now should I cover the top also with a damp towel ?

I went and checked on the baby, she's laying next to the other egg, that was viable and resting against it, does that mean there's something in the egg that caught her interest (like chirping from another baby?) or just a fluke that she's choosing to lay next to that egg like that.

Yeah, I know adults that smear.

Worse is .. Okay, gross subject.
I clean something almost daily. maybe even more than daily. With Clorox wipes on the tank, next to the Lysol. Spray cleaner in the cabinet behind that, and I swear I can't just wash my hands. The sink edge and inside get washed, and often the Q-tips come out to get the area behind the faucet.
I want to say I am not hard to live with. Never touch my towels, and you are fine. Actually, you must wash your hands properly. Before the nightmare began the last night, I remember my husband yelling about me making him wash his hands after using the bathroom. I was too preoccupied with keeping Duckling safe to worry about his habits. So IDK why washing his hands was on his mind. But apparently, I am a beast for reminding him to wash his hands after using the bathroom.

Nope. It just needs the moisture to keep from drying out, and to keep from sticking to the container.
