Well only 3 lived my cat got a hold of the other 4
One of them has curled toes and one of them has splayed legs but the last one is doing good

So sorry :hugs

Is that really something you wish to admit? :D
:smack Only If you are taking the extra extra chicks.
Thank you! I was thinking the same thing!
:hugs
lol u gonna ship 'em?

I totally posted something my daughter said, on the wrong thread earlier. Ooops.

"My daughter just asked me when she grows up, if she could marry a stick bug... then goes... well, I guess I really wouldn't want to marry one, they can't do the dishes."

I survived church, plus running errands. Now I'm home.

No other eggs have pipped, and the little chick that's in there, is acting antsy. It was hopping around when I came int othe bathroom to check on it. I'm tempted to take it out and put it in the brooder. Not sure if I should, or not yet... but it's knocking all the other eggs around in there, with no signs of them hatching yet.

:fl

I don't know what to do
i saw u got help nvm

Would it work on a quail because it's so tiny

Yes!!

that's hilarious!!

MY chick's mostly dry, my silkies arrived on the 31st of august, so they are just under 3 weeks old, and pretty mellow/tiny, so I was going to see about sticking her in there with them, (carefully) if they aren't nice to her, I can just move them back to the dog crate, and put a stuffed animal in there....

I just am not sure exactly when I should move her, since she's pushing all the other eggs around in there. None of the eggs are in their original positions. LOL

It's ok

:rant @DwayneNLiz If that hen doesn't get off the nest within the hour, you will be adopting the chicks! You had to tell me to "do it" didn't you?

ROFL!!! If u ship!!

I'm going to kill my husband. He just let one of our barn cats inside and it killed one fo my daughters silkies... Can I shoot my husband? Seriously... ***.

His response was "I didn't know it would do that"

What do you THINK a barn cat is going to do?

My daughter is balling her eyes out over it. UGH.

Stupid silkies cost us a lot more then a regular chicken, and I don't think I can get anymore until next year from the hatcheries.
grrrrrrrrr

My dad said he will look at it in the morning

I will let you know how it goes or if we need to order a new thermostat and I f I order a new thermostat is here any at you reccomend. To have some other options that may be more accurate I had in just plugged in my incubator and the probe was in the same spot just above the eggs and every time I opened it to turn the eggs and the temp came back up it would read a different temp each time and stay there.

Here's a couple more ways of looking at it.
You can just eliminate all the wiring for cooling.
A hot wire goes into L1 and the first heat connection. The sensor switches that on so you get output on the other heat connection.

I know that's how many feel.
Snakes and bucket traps are more effective and I've never had either kill a chick.
A stairway to heaven bucket trap can kill more mice/rats in a night than a cat would bother with.
Snakes get into places cats can't and where the mice hide.

The hen ships tomorrow.
Awesome. I hope you're getting a tracking #. Let me know what kind of shipping box it comes in. Are you paying for the box and shipping?

For the price, you can't beat a STC-1000. A wafer is another option.
I've used this one that is very precise but failed after about a year.
It runs on 12V DC

I have been raising chicks in my house for 3 years now and I have 6 indoor only cats. No losses due to cats, in fact, one of my cats is very maternal about the chicks and let them climb all over her. :)

Yeah, my indoor only cats are good kitties and won't mess with my daughters frogs, or the brooders.... Indoor/outdoor cats are a different ball of fish, and barn cats are evil little .... badnamehere.
