Thanks! I will get her splinted up soon. She is eating & drinking but her navel is still open. I think the splay leg is the problem, because she is dragging the navel around on the ground so maybe it is not healing properly.

I was thinking the same thing... I guess one could tape bubble wrap over a bunch of the whole to keep the heat in? Looking for ideas to add to my emergency/supportive care thread. Need to figure out how to make something that will stay about 80-85 degrees without using a heat lamp. Once I had a peahen that was so deathly ill that she couldn't walk, so I found a big box and used a combo of towels, hot water bottles and a heating pad.

what about a heated blanket rather than heat pad? line the top with one of those reflective heat blankets from the survival stores
