These are uglier.

I have all of those as well, all the way down the line, except the table saw, which I keep threatening to get, but don't currently have a place to set it up. My miter saw works mostly as a chop saw; won't do compound cuts. FIL was a carpenter, too, and I have several of his hand tools. My radial arm saw is a 10" Craftsman that BIL gave me when he found himself with 3 of them. It's currently set up outside with a big black garbage bag protecting all the vital parts when not in use...that's one reason for putting this building up.

It's scary how alike we are. Maybe it's our age.
My power miter saw is also primarily used as a chop saw but in the past I often used it to cut trim work for baseboards cornices and wall frames. I don't have a compound miter saw so those cuts are harder on this one.
My table saw is outside too for the same reason. It's covered with a tarp when not in use. If I did a strict cleaning of the carriage house, I could fit it inside where the rest of the workshop is. What helped was putting wheels on most of my power tools, tool cabinets and even my big workbench. That way I can move things out to the middle when I need to use them. The only things that don't have wheels are some shelving units and the big drill press. That's just too top heavy. I even put wheels on my welders. a big safe and the compressor that got legs.

ChickenCanoe, Sally abd everyone else see this video of a wonderful way to reuse plastic bottles!
They can be use for extremely strong bonding.

I saw pictures once of a kennel setup with a circle in the center and individual runs around the circumference with all the gates facing the center; neat setup, maximum efficiency.
That was basically the concept with my design. It is hexagon shaped but split down the middle with a covered breezeway between the two halves. One side is split into three units for chicken pairs or trios and the other side is two larger units that will hold up to 6 birds. From the covered breezeway I have access to all nest boxes, roosts and bulk feed. Water is automatic. Eventually each unit will have 2 automatic doors allowing access to different paddocks for each unit to allow forage rotation.

Finding a straight piece of lumber anymore is like finding hen's teeth, but I've done the same thing by clamping 90* angle iron or aluminum to the plywood. Might try that if I can't come up with a better way.
I was thinking about the straight lumber thing while watching Treehouse Masters building decks. It was amazing how straight and square all their lumber was.
I like to use metal for things like that too. We have a great metal supply house in the far north city less than 30 minutes from here. I love going there and browsing. The prices are fantastic and there isn't anything they don't carry.
For a piece of steel you would buy at Lowe's or Home Depot, you can get ten there for the same price - or much less if you buy recycled or from a remnant.
Sam, is a great guy as is his dad. Small world but the guy that cuts my hair also does both of them.

I am terrified of pigs now after reading these posts.
Quote:
They can get nasty, specially a sow with little ones
You beat me to it.
It isn't always the case but usually a sow with piglets can be very scary in tight quarters. Very strong with powerful jaws.
I didn't know this growing up but you can put your hand on a pigs' forehead and stop it because it can't turn its head. I usually just ran.

Yep that will work. Gosh no getting around it. Siding is best done with two people. Especially at that height.
The pulley idea might work.
I seem to do all the building around here with no help. Sometimes it goes bad. I was rebuilding my back porch and climbing a ladder with a 4X8 sheet of 3/4" plywood. The ladder that was on the steps leading to the cellar collapsed under me. I landed on a step with only one foot still holding the plywood. My leg broke.

I am glad yours is still alive. We are loosing all our Red Oaks and Ash trees. It is sad.
I lost a huge

There arnt any ash trees left around here there all dead idk what a red oak is though
We still have some ash trees. There were 3 huge white ash in the front yard of the house where I grew up in north St. Louis.

With some exceptions and as a general rule, red oaks have pointed lobes on the leaves while white oaks have rounded lobes. (some oaks don't have lobes) Reds are primarily on the eastern half of the continent.
They are fast growing and the 75' trees that line the west side of my driveway are red oaks.
They can reach 90'+ and live over 300 years.

So that is why I can't upload pictures of just me? The dove has to be in the picture?

You dont have there the option to miss work because sickness, and get paid for it?
I have 30 daye each year that I can stay home because any health problems and get paid as long l bring a document from the doctor, and that includes child sickness ( but only for 7 days )
Every company is different. Some progressive companies have such benefits but IMO thanks to the disappearance of labor unions, most provide no such benefit any more.
Built into the union contract, the company I worked for gave 40 hours a year of paid personal leave for whatever reason after the first year of service. Unpaid sick days were with a doctor's note. That note had to include a diagnosis, the fact that you were unable to do physical work and the length of time you would be incapacitated. If those elements were missing, the note wasn't accepted. Doctors always balked at the diagnosis part.
Nothing was included for a sick child.
If you were to be out for more than a week, a sick leave benefit kicked in and you started getting paid for all except the first week.

I remember a line in a Steve Martin standup routine. He said, "I want to be master of all space, time and dimension.
Then, I want to go to Europe."

I do see this series in both chanel you mentioned
About the intervening of aliens in ancient culture I think that it is
Lack of appreciation to the ingenuity to the intelligence and hige level of craftsmanship they had!
No computers, no power tools and sometimes even without Iron they have bilt Monumental building, and we just can't understand how, so we put in the aliens. In my opinion no aliens just plain ingenuity!

(you can't sleep? )
