Really glad I don't live near by them. Probably get quail and I don't have space.

Well my day has become quite a bit easier. The drain line has been cleared. Took 10 minutes. Of course it took all day to get to it yesterday. Now I just have to get the trees cut down that caused the problem.
What's the advantage to having quail? Their eggs are tiny, and while they are a delicacy, for eating (bird wise) they seem like a lot of trouble for almost no meat.

I just put a new chain on one of my saws...come get it :p
But they're great for training bird dogs! That's why I raised them. Hatching quail eggs was my 1st incubator experience. Actually it was my only experience for 30 years, 'til I started hatching chickens.

Awesome I'll bring the tractor and we can lift that siding. On my way to get the electric chain saw my friend gave me. Hope it's sharp.

They do just die. It is said that if dogs died at the rate of chickens, most people wouldn't keep dogs.
I've had chickens die from cancer, heart attacks and fatty liver syndrome. All confirmed by necropsy.

That's because they're experts at hiding illness. If they seem sick, they know their flock members may kill them for the well being of the flock.

That sounds great. It has been a while since I've trolled Lake of the Ozarks for Largemouth, Smallies and Walleye. I'm overdue.

Charge on.

I and my hens like excelsior nest pads.
Plastic nest pads are washable.
There are several sources for both so I'm not recommending any one single source. Just google it.
