Speaking of babies @NaJoBeLe how is your wife and the twins? When is she due?

Wife is feeling very pregnant and very uncomfortable at this point. All seems to be progressing well though so we are thankful for that. We have delivery scheduled for the 21st of Oct so just under a month. Docs aren't sure we will make it that far but that is the goal.

Haven't had alot of time to get on here lately and try playing catch up when I do but that's a losing battle.

Packed the bator up while is was rearranging for the nursery. Had it set up in what is now my daughters room and while she loves baby chicks she didn't seem to be a fan of the incubator taking up a portion of her room.

Have a new rooster coming of age and starting to show interest in the ladies so fertile eggs should be coming again so I will be incubating soon just not sure when.

Hope all are well. And welcome to those who have joined the banter over the past few months.

Hey, Stranger

It would work, right? I can raise them with my batches of silkies and ducks??? LOL

I mean... chickens always seem to die, so even if I buy 50, I bet I'll only have 10-15 out of the original by the spring... right? That's how I justified it to my husband...

I also was pricing out some of the really fancy dog kennels there for the ducks. They come with nice metal roofs, and I can add a dog house to the side (it opens) and it's movable... so for the ducks, or turkeys... it might be a nice breeding pen? and since I could move it, when they destroy one part of the yard, I could then move it to a different part?

It's about 500 for a nice kennel with a metal roof.... but at the cost of building a shed, or pens with big fenced off areas.... It makes more sense to have a movable kennel?

I haven't told my husband I was pricing those out.... he still thinks i'm saving money up to go back to the fertility doctor after jan... but if I have extra money.... :hmm

I have those dog kennels that don't have the roof we bought them at tractor supply for 200 something. I have two of them connected together and made one big run that's over 30 feet long.

Quote: Believe it or not, he's done a 180 degree turnaround, for now. I still keep a close eye on him, due to his past history, but he hasn't made an aggressive move toward me in quite a while. DW was in the yard with me yesterday and said"that rooster" was coming after her, but I don't know if it was Tucker; I have several juvies running around. One of them is going to look just like him, I think.

Good deal on the turnaround.

Juvies from him? Seems as though i recall your first attempt with his eggs didnt work out very well. Sounds like you got some to hatch?

I am glad things are going well. Keep us posted. What happened with the great name debate?
