If they are cornish crosses that they get I think most people process them between 8-10 weeks.Some kind of heavy meat bird, that grows really fast, they said the reason you need to cull prior to 6 months is their joints can't keep up with their body weight and they'll end up dying because of how fast they grow. So, more humane to kill/eat them. I haven't intentionally had meat birds before, primarily because I wasn't sure I wanted to cull/eat them, but my husband finally agreed to help butcher with the kids.

That sounds about right. They make you order 25 for the 4h project at a minimum.If they are cornish crosses that they get I think most people process them between 8-10 weeks.
